righto people. it's time.
it's time to leave the hill.
to get out into the world a bit, don't you think?
to escape these lonely, often ridiculous, ramblings.
words like whirlwinds in my head.
i'm out of here tommorrow.
on safari. with my spotted horse.
into an enchanted landscape - into hidden vallies between mt meru and kilimanjaro.
a place of silence, but for the wind.
space as wide as the sky.
dreamy.
elephant paths between the whistling thorns.
(christ. i hope we don't get close to any elephants. the spotted one will be terrified. he's been chased by them before. apparently elephants don't really like horses.) so yes. from a distance will be perfect. elephants have a knack for hiding themselves in small places....
i shall be sleeping under canvas and watching the stars and cleaning my head.
and my heart.
if i can tell the difference.
so. until next time, oh best beloveds.
whenever that shall be.
toodely pip then. bisous, comme toujours, x.x.x. wild ones...yeah. j

I'll miss your posts.
Have a fantastic time, and watch out for the ellies.
Oh don't be so melodramatic!
Have fun dearest. Think of us up on the hill leading your children astray....
look forward to the post trip post, so to speak
xxxxx
I did have a terrible thought reading the start of your post that you would Never Be Blogging Again.
I do hope I'm wrong?
Tell the spotty one to be brave. I doubt an elephant has seen a spotty horse before (stripy ones yes, spotty ones no) so they'll all be high tailing it away from him!
Bon voyage!
I'll miss you! Come back soon - I'm away for half term, so catch up after that - I've booked my flights btw! You have to make sure you're there!! Lxx

GLAD for you, under the canvas.

Have a beautiful time. It sounds magikal. Your posts will be missed.
You are coming back right? Right?!
Have fun with the ellies. Always remember my first horse safari when at pony club camp in Naivasha. We set off a herd of giraffe, ponies went mad and mine sat on an electric fence. *rolls eyes*
Have a wonderful time - and yeah, mind those ellies!
Oh Janelle, this sounds wonderful. I have lurked. I came over here after finding you commenting on Pink Cowboy's blog.
Can't wait to hear how it all goes.

Best regards,
Mike Thomas
flattered, mike thomas, flattered. i did indeed go onto the suggested page but it looked awfully complicated and busy. and i never saw any digereedoo which said "submit interview." so you are most welcome to either question me here. or email me. flattered. as i said. best. janelle
okokokokokokokok. found it. did it. not sure i'll make the grade at all, because it seems you don;t like one sentance answers..this has, of course, encouraged a rambling diatribe of blah....whatever. there you go.
I've been preparing for a trip around Lake Victoria, and have read that camping sites are a cheap way to go.
What safety issues do I need to worry about? Perhaps I've seen "The Ghost and the Darkness" too many times...but in Montana, you can't so much as sleep in the clothes you cook in or a grizzly bear will find you at night.
wil! sorry! just found your comment...i don't usually check backwards...um. well it depends. if you can deal with grizzlies you can deal with almost anything out here..mostly out the national parks the only thing you have to worry about are people....other than that, wild animals usually leave you alone. if you zip your tent up...stupid eh? thin easily rippable canvas...but it works. x j
